Sew-Easy patterns by ADVANCE for KEN

These are an early version(60 cent) and a later version(75 cent) of the Advance’s Sew-Easy sewing patterns.

these two packages were introduced in the 1962-63 booklets. the Mattel trade mark is printed on the package, and the product name ‘Ken’ appears a lot in the sewing guide inside. I believe Mattel also supervised these patterns, but they seem to have discontinued this style, probably because they released ‘Barbie Sew-Free Fashion Fun’ in 1965. from around 1964, it seems that various companies(such Vogue, McCalls,etc) sold the dress patterns for Barbie family. However, there seems to have been no sewing-pattern set dedicated to Ken, so I think this is a special item.

I have tried to make the 6 fashions faithfully to the ‘Step by step chart’, but I’ve changed the seam allowance a bit narrower, and I prefer not snaps on the jacket, so I imitated his original jacket for the front (added some button hole stitching and loops). However, as a general rule, the finished line (final silhouette) followed the pattern.

1964年頃から、VogueやMcCallsなど様々な会社がバービーファミリーのドレスパターンを販売していたようです。しかしケン専用の型紙セットはなかったようなので、これは特別なアイテムだと思います。

6つのファッションを説明書に忠実に作りましたが、縫い代を少し狭く変更しています、ジャケットのスナップが好きではないので、フロントは彼のオリジナルのジャケットを模倣しました（追加. いくつかのボタン穴のステッチとループ)。ただし、原則として、仕上がり線（最終的なシルエット）はパターンに従いました。
